One of the more hilariously true images I've ever seen captioned up.
I've made no bones about my dislike of Reddit. I think the social media aspect of it's up/down vote system is more of a curse than a blessing in areas where the pond scum of humanity tend to hang out. However, in some areas of Reddit, it is actually more useful than not.
None of that addresses why these forums are here and what their purpose it. It also doesn't address why moderation is needed in official corporate forums and why companies should post in their official forums.
I am both a Reddit reader and a Forum reader/poster. I will always post here over Reddit because here my opinion is held equal by the forum to everyone else's. On Reddit, it's subject to the whims of the mob that happens to be logged in at the moment.
I don't care what you read, but those of you trying to eliminate the forums just because you like Reddit better are a pretty sad bunch because you're essentially saying that you lack the capacity to read more than one information source.
I find that very odd in an EVE player who has to get Intel from at least a dozens sources or risk being turned into space particles just going from point A to point B.

Not sure how you interpret comments like this but suggestively sending people away from the forums as a source of information is a form of 'eliminating' them in my book.
This isn't the first thread where many pro-Redditors have suggested (sometimes casually, sometimes overtly) CCP shut down the forums.

You're taking me overly literally when my comments were directed toward the animosity that is shown towards these forums and those that do their best to run them.
I have never hidden my 'bias' and have repeatedly stated my preference for posting here but reading Reddit as well. Here the comments are moderated and ameliorated, which is actually showing these forums somewhat work, forcing many people to think before they post. Your comments to me of being 'wrong' about getting rid of the useless official forums doesn't apply to Reddit where almost every thread that even mentions these forums seems to bring out the haters that call for the ending of them/the ISD/etc, in some fashion or another. But yes, even this thread has a post that demonstrates the 'uselessness' of these forums in the opinion of someone so they are "going to Reddit" which was my point. I think you can find it on your own.
I actually don't care if people post here or on Reddit. Whatever blows your skirt.
What I do think is important is that CCP makes certain that all important official information is posted here. It's okay if a Dev has an opnion and posts it to Reddit, or even if they 'scoop' the official forums and post some new info there. As long as it makes it here, I'm fine with that. That's just people being people and it's why I read Reddit as well.
What I'm not fine with is people completely failing to understand why these forums exist and then trashing them here and on Reddit out of ignorance.
I hope that clears it up.
